You never stop learning, and growing.

Our Lectures and Workshops

  • From Proposal to Publication

Siobhan has worked with a wide range of publications including magazines, fabric companies and more. In this talk she will share the different processes through which an idea ends up in a publication. The quilts used for this presentation vary, if your group is particularly interested in a quilt please let us know and we will work to include it in the talk.

  • Opps!: We All Make Mistakes

A favorite for both Siobhan and audiences, in this talk she will tell the stories of the different mistakes that have happened in her quilts (even an award winning one), and how each was resolved (some of them are not how you expect). If you have ever made a mistake in your quilt and thought everybody is going to notice it, you will love this presentation.

  • Behind the Seams

This talk is always changing, since it focuses on Siobhan’s latest work. During the talk she will share her design process, the tools she uses, quilts she is currently working on, along with some of her favorite quilts (an always changing list). At the end she likes to leave time for a longer Q&A, and encourages groups to have some questions ready in advance.

  • Choose Your Own: Trunk Show

Sometimes the best way to share stories and behind the scenes details is to let the audience pick! For this talk the group is able to choose their top 10-15 quilts (from a provided list, we can also set up a poll for you), to be included in the trunk show. Here the audience gets to set the schedule and learn about what they are interested in the most.

  • Welcome to Technicolor!

Love color but not sure how to use it in your quilts? In this multi-part workshop Siobhan will teach everyone traditional color theory and how it can be applied to quilting. Participants will make a total of 9 different quilt blocks each using a different color scheme and incorporating different techniques that can be finished as a throw quilt. After this class series you’ll never fear color again! This can be an in person or virtual series. This program can be modified for a full day course.

  • Turning Vacation Memories into Quilts

A tropical sunset, a crumbling castle, a garden in bloom… We all have those beautiful travel memories that stand out, that we think have perfect colors or patterns that would be beautifully translated into fabric. In this workshop Siobhan will provide you with the skills to do just that! Learn to adapt colors from your favorite travel albums and pair them with meaningful patterns to turn your travel memories into quilts. This class can be tailored to different interests and skill levels; and is available both in person or virtually. Students will leave the class with multiple color palettes and one fully planned quilt.

  • Introduction to Quilt Pattern Modification

Have you ever thought this pattern is great but if I could just tweak it a little, it would be perfect? Did you make a quilt but wish you could have made it a slightly different size? Have you tried altering a pattern and gotten stuck on the math? Then this is the workshop for you! Using my pattern Jelly Roll Square we will cover a wide range of different pattern modifications including: enlarging the quilt, shrinking the quilt, building a pattern out, how to identify key components, ways to alter block construction and most importantly all the math to back it up. This course is a full day course available in person or virtually, students leave with a fully modified pattern (including fabric requirements).

  • EPP: The Puzzle Challenge

Do you want to take your EPP skills to the next level? Are you looking for a creative challenge involving shape and color? Then the EPP Puzzle Challenge is perfect for you! This is a really fun workshop that encourages collaboration. Each student will work with a “party pack” of paper shapes and solid colored fabric to create a unique design that tells a story. The workshop will include a brief review of how to English paper piece, and different ways to approach the challenge. This can be a half or full day course and is available in person or virtually. Students leave with a started EPP mini quilt project.

  • Custom Quilt Alongs

Is your group interested in a custom quilt along? Or a mystery quilt along? We offer a range of services developing new designs, modifying our existing designs and setting you up with a fully customized program that will be exclusive to your group for the duration. Please contact us for more details.
